Like I previously mentioned, hacking is one of the most controversial issues today. Computers and similar technology are the most influential aspects of your life and the idea that a single person or group can control that is is terrifying to most people. Due to this rational fear many believe that more restrictions against hacking should exist. On the other hand some people say without hackers the government will rule the Internet and privacy will be eradicated. People with these opposing viewpoints always argue and therefore hacking is a problem that is constantly being addressed. Many laws have already been put into place to prevent hackers from performing activities that affect people in a negative way. However, stopping hacking, for better or for worse, will never be possible. Everyday people begin to learn to hack and no matter how hard the government tries they will never be able to prevent “unethical hacking.” Frankly, law enforcement lacks the sheer force it would take to end hacking. It’s like trying to stop a train with a stick. Personally, I am unable to take a stance for or against hacking. Groups like Anonymous have helped the rebels forces in Syria fight their government yet Anonymous has also attacked companies to generate a name for themselves. Hacking influences people globally. As I mentioned in my essay hackers raised a mob in India and destroyed oppressive government websites.
